No - Don't fit your windscreen for the test, and the glass dispensation isn't an issue
As I commented here, the change in tank regs is to prevent people putting tanks into confined spaces (like an old beetle) where the fuel filling cap is located in the same space.
Both sportsters and cabrios have their tanks under the boot floor and have the filler on the body work, so no issue.
Is the immobiliser documentation requirement changing? On my IVA, the guy didn't bother looking at my certificate of installation by an approved installer because he said they were currently waiving that requirement, but it might have changed now?
