My better half keeps banging on about the Sportster needing a set of wire wheels!!

I didn't think that was possible, until I curiously did a bit of googling...

I came across these and wondered if anyone has an experience of this type of wheel.

The BMW e30 is not listed but these have the right PCD. Not so sure about the offset and rear clearance as they seem to use an un-conventional terminology.

Yes, wires would look nice - I looked into it some time ago, and I found a German company that did them. Patrick deciphered the site and sent them an email for me, but I don't think they ever got back to us.

What was good about them was they machined bolt on splines, so you had proper knock off spinners on the wheels for a nice old fashioned look.

They do look nice, but do they last well and could I live with all the cleaning??

Also, a very expensive luxury! Maybe I can find a aBay supplier in China!

I have a photo of a Berlinetta with wire wheels from MWSint, which I plan to put on my Cabrio............... (but only when I get her fully registered -I have to try to dangle carrotts to my self to make me get on with it!!)

Looks good, but what hubs does that Berli have? I bet they're not BMW. Whilst MWS do a 4 x 100 PCD bolt pattern, what about the central bore? Their site doesn't offer anything specifically for a BMW when you do a search.

So you could get them custom drilled to fit the beemer hubs and the get some proper centre lock wheels. More expensive, but they'd look brilliant.

Yes, I noticed that. I'm tempted to give them a call but not untill I'm sure I really want to spend that much money!

I've emailed them for details on fittment availability and wether or not they have a european distributor.

That's essentially what Patrick and I have (albiet not split rims).

Take a look on eBay for 15" BMW BBS Crossweaves. I got all 5 of mine for about £150 and then had them professionally refinished. In all, I got all of them for under £500 with the powdercoating, they look the part for now and they fit the hubs perfectly.

He's sent a form to be filled in with measurements around the hub and caliper etc, so I may fill it in at the weekend to see exactly how big a heart attack I'll have from the price... Sticker Shock, I believe our colonial cousins call it.
