Your car is looking good, and not too far from completion - were these photos taken in 2006?
What have you been doing for the last 3 years - or is it a case of "Don't ask...." - apart from getting married and swanning off on honeymoon!!

photos were taken a while ago now, and will try and find more to put on...and hopefully they will stir some interest...battery position being one!It is a varley red top battery, and will all be covered by carpet, but am tempted to put it furthur up the car.

well your interior trimming is certainly looking very smart, well done. And that steering wheel looks really neat.
I'm a bit intrigued to know why the battery is not under the bonnet?
I'm sure you can fit it at the back as BMW put some of theirs in the boot on e46 models but you need some big cables to hide along the floor or under the car.
I guess you have a good reason?

Indeed, even on the E30 6 pot models (not the touring) the batteries were located in the boot to help with weight balance

As many know I have the e36 lump under the bonnet,and have very limited space.The large intake manifold takes up most of the left side of the engine bay, and led me to place the expansion bottle along with the swirl pot and hydraulic fluid resevoir in the battery bulkhead space.The e36 battery is large and when I went to place it in the boot area, it was going to foul the seat belts, or take up all remaining central space,so I decided on the red top...It is mighty small and powerful...so small, it may be moved back up to the passenger footwell.I will remove my bonnet and show the size of the engine in the bay.

Good God - did you have to grease the sides of the engine bay to get that in? I can now see why the battery isn't under there! 
Looks neat though - those multi pin connectors look very swish.
