I am scratch building a bodied reverse trike that is open topped and unlikely to have a hood of any sort.

What is/can usually be done about seating, instruments and switches, seat belt mechanisms getting wet during our glorious summer weather?

Would leather or vinyl upholstery survive? What about keeping the electrics dry?

I suppose holes in the floor will let the water out.

Fibreglass seats would be the first port of call and bike electrics are designed to be waterproof ,something to think about

Thank you, I don't know much about bike electrics but I will look into the components and see how and what I can use.

I am working on using a wood and fibreglass construction with some steel and so the seating will probably be fibreglass. I was thinking about weatherproofing upholstery as I'm not keen on hard seating alone.

I am also planning on using car doors with electric window and mirror controls. on the door cards.
I could replace the door cards with fibreglass too and relocate the switches somewhere?

I think most of the guys who use glass fbre seats throw in a thin cushion for there middle aged bottoms
