Hi all
Ive tried fitting my Seat Leon wheels to my kit for the first time.....and
they dont fit, the wheel diameter is just too big.
I have two options........
Get the enlarged wheel arches from Marlin and fit orignal 17" rims, with 225/55 R17
OR
Get some small wheels/ tyre comobos.

So what are you all running on your kits? Have the wheel arch mod or not?

Does 15" 190/150 R15 Team dynamics Pro_Race 3 Black Alloy Wheels
fit the bill without bodywork mod.

Hi Steve,

I'm running 185/55 R15 (std rover 5.5j rims) and these fit no problem without wide arches. I know others are running 195/50 R15 tyres but not sure what rims they are on (6J?)

Be careful with offsets though - the std arches don't have much width in them.

Do you know what offset your rims are?

My hubs are from Seat Leon, I'm cautious if the offset I need is a little different, to that of a Rover/Civic

I guess if I measure the distance from the wheel arch to the hub plate, I could calculate the offset I need.

The Leon wheels are 7Jx17 with 225/55 R17. overall diameter is 610mm

ET36 or 39 I think....but cannot be certain. Standard rover alloys though.

Obviously the offset is all relative to the width of rim.

The first thing I would do is get on the phone to Marlin. See what they say. Probably find they had the wheel arch extenders if using standard rims.


6.5"X15 et 38, 195/50x15 will work (mine)
7"X15 et35, 195/50/15 work (John's)

6"X15 et 45, 195/55/15 or 195/50/15 (standard Rover turbo alloys)

But I need wider rubber at the rear. So looking at 205/225 with the wheel arch extenders in the future.

Don't forget though. There may be some mm differences (hub to outer edge of disc) between to Rover and Seat setups. Can you get some 15" steelies for Seats to try?

As John said I'm using 195/50/15 on 7" rims with et 35. I have no issue with this setup, but I don't have the same camber sweep as Marlin designed.

The good thing about 195/50/15 is tyre cost.

In case it helps I use this site to calculate, and compare the tyre and wheel sizes. It doesn't do offset but that can be calculated separately.

from which I should be able to fit my 17inch leon wheels,
and workout what I need to bring the wheel inline to fit and under the bodywork.

I have access to my wifes Golf, which has 205/55/16 6J ET50 wheels on it.
being VW, the 5 stud PCD may fit as well.
So will fit it and see what different a 6J et50 vs 7J ET48 actually makes.
Which is closer I will see if I can make the calculator work.

Does anyone have seat leon running gear, fitted on their EXi?
I know there arnt many Leon based EXi out there..

I spoke to Marlin and there is no definitive answer on the quesition. I guess this is due to the fact that I am one of the first using a Donor from the factory.

All i can do is determine what i might need, then figure out what wheel is takes to get it to fit.
