To Kit Car or Not to Kit Car???

6 May 2011, 9:19pm
Hello,

im currently in a dilema, I have a stage 3 race spec mk3 fiest im in the process of building, its about 80% there with most of the hard work done. The thing is I have always wanted a kit car but never really had the space, as I work for Autoflock Motorsport we have always worked at small premises, but in december we moved workshops into a new 1200sq ft workshop. Although I love the fiesta I feel that a kit car would be a much better vehicle to use as a demo car for the company as we could powder coat a lot of parts, cnc brackets, make the body our of composite, etc.

Im thinking of something along the lines of a MNR vortex with a zetec turbo lump in it, I was looking at a tiger avon a few years ago when I was interested in building a kitcar but I wasnt too impressed with the build quality, but I may have seen a poor one.

Anyway, just after some thoughts and inspiration as I don't want to get rid of the fez as it had a lot of centimental value, but at the same time I feel I need to brake my kitcar cherry while we have the space.

Any comments welcome :-)

Kind regards

Raj
