Gary - check the PM I sent regarding the TVR i am looking at. If it is good i can probably have it sat outside your garage next weekend.
not a big fan of the back end of that Aston but if you want to use the rest during 'adjustments' to make the G46 fit the TVR i wouldn't object.
pm replied to....looks ok to me.....I am looking forward to this one ....as I said its an idea thats been in my head for a while ....not as long as some other ideas but a few months now....I was looking at other donors that will work with the Sammio range....as traditional and relevant ( in my opinion ) that the Triumphs and Scimitar are , they won't be around for ever and there are limitations with using vintage cars as donors...my problem is I like cars that look old to feel old as well....I take this as far as liking patina'd paint and old upholstery etc....not all cars need to be shiny and spanking to look great...
Anyhows , there aren't many donors that will work....I am a big fan of avoiding SVA so that limits things somewhat ....if our sales and enquiries are anything to go by , the SVA exempt models are definitely the ones that people want ...550 interest is there but not like the G46 and Spyder interest ( possibily because they are prettier than the 550 !! )
The TVR was suggested by someone else when talking about Ferrari replicas and the old light bulb lit up !!
Other donors I have considered are the Lotus Elite ....not the early 60's one but the 70's into 80's sports hatch , estate cars !! Like the Tasmin , butt ugly but seperate chassied with modernish mechanicals on a RWD chassis ...The Lotuses ( lotii ? ) are even cheaper and although slightly wider tracked than the Scimitars , they are closer at 98'' in the wheelbase .....
If its horsepower and space frames though , the TVR wins it....
I don't think we will be producing a package to build a TVR or Lotus based car but I may create some moulds to enable us to build a few turnkeys at some time.....
Roadster - you have added 2 + 2 and come up with 22 !!
My deco inspired car was first drawn for me as a concept in the late 90's ....I got sidetracked with Hot Rod kits and some Beetle stuff and it got put on the back burner ......I may resurrect it one day but the Sammio stuff is really where I am at right now....it was going to be a cross between a 34 Ford Roadster ( I had moulds for those at the time ) an Auburn Speedster and various coachbuilt delahayes etc...probably on a Scimitar SE6 chassis or similar for length , 103.5'' wheelbase ...originally pencilled in for a Mazda B2000 chassis but they have all been exported nowadays ....117.5'' wheelbase ! closed in pontoon style fenders , long bonnet raked grille , duval style screen ....etc etc ....
