been looking for sometime at building a kit and am finally weighing up my options. I have a Mitsubishi FTO with the mivec V6 that has a very good, strong engine but a knackered body - and i was wondering if (to save doner costs) i could use the running gear from the FTO (or even just the engine/loom etc) in a kit?
i have done a lot of searching and noone seems to make any kits around Mitsubishis at all.
it would be a huge shame not to put that great V6 into a lighter kit!
i appreciate any info, advice you guys can give.

There are no kits, that I know of, that use Mitsubishi's as a donor. But many transversly mounted kits could fit. I know Marlin for example, made mounts for a different engine option while the customer waited to collect the kit.
Trouble is, you are in for a lot of grief and expense if you want to use the running gear. Example driveshafts will need modifying/hubs manufactered, electrics, exhaust, etc.
i know, i guess i was hoping for an easy way out. its just annoying that ive got a free donor car sitting on my drive! thati could use and the sound of that V6 screaming away would be fantastic on a low weight car.
i think i'll break it and use that money to buy a donor to start my build.
now just got to decide which kit!

You really need to go to a kit car show and have a look. Or have a look through the manufacters on this site and mags. Though very late in the day for this year for shows.
Then speak to builders about the build/company and real budget. Then go from there.
