A forlorn hope here as most of you run BMW diffs, but I'll still ask the question:

Has anyone any experience of a Scorpio koala type diff mount? as compared to the standard Sierra D mount?
Having started my engine last week I am already seeing some of the issue I have to deal with. The first is the Sierra diff wind up. The rear D bracket, with the large void at the bottom, is allowing too much wind up of the diff with the wheels off the ground, so god knows what it will be like when on the ground!!
One solution is to go for a polyflex d bracket, but I am concerned these could be too rigid, and pass vibration and noise in to the chassis?

The late scorpio 'koala' rear support looks like a potentially good solution?
Anyone any constructive comments?

My Hunter has a rear diff mount that Mark at Marlin made up when he fitted my LS diff. It uses a couple of pairs of top hat polyflex bushes and and some fabricated Mild Steel channel bits.

The photos are a bit poor as access with a camera at arm's length is a very restricted to say the least.

With the hood up you can hear the diff a bit (but who wants the hood up!) With the hood down the enjoyable V8 exhaust sound is all you hear! Peter.

Just had another look at my MOC website photos and it looks as though there is only one pair of top hat bushes, ie only one securing bolt between the two parts of the fabricated mount. Peter.

Sierra/Scorpio Rear Diff Support

Its been a while, but I have moved this on a little. I bought a Scorpio rear diff back plate, and have cut the supports off, and welded them to a 25mm thick bar. Two holes allow it to be bolted to the standard mounting points on the Sierra diff.

Perhaps I should call it my Owl diff support?

I suspect this is mimicing something the BMW diff has as standard, ie. two rear supports spaced even wider apart to stop wind-up, and reduce movement, whilst removing vibration through rubber mounts rather than the hardened polyflex bushes?
