rubber trim

Nearing final completion....how did builders secure their rubber trim around the between nose cone/scuttle and bonnet that was secure enough for iva but easily removable aftrewards for painting.

Mine is just clamped in place by the side panels - no glue.

With it stretched across the nose cone / scuttle, it stays in place. And when the bonnet are down, it further clamped in place.

trim

Goo, did you place and secure edging to the bonnet itself on the front and rear exposed edges?

Yes - I kept that in place with some dabs of contact adhesive. Not the complete length, but several spots to keep it in place. Came off easily enough, and the residue can be removed with evo-stick solvent.

I found that Bostik all purpose adhesive glue worked pretty well, and easy to clean off afterwards. But as Jason says, you don't need that much in the first place.

The IVA tester advised my to put glue on the under surfaces only, that way if it should ever peel off it would not be on any visible surface.:eusa_whistle:
