I have a pair of Civic type-R rear brake calipers I originally had fitted to my car. They enable the Marlin to run with the 260mm solid rear discs as fitted to the MG ZS-180, and in doing so help to address the excessive front brake bias of the stock Rover 200 brake set-up.
I have calipers, a pair of serviceable discs, and some very knackered DS2500 pads.
At the moment they are taking up space on the garage shelving, so if you're interested by all means make me an offer.
I'm running standard K series discs on the rear of my 1.6....and do suffer from front end loading of the brakes - to the point where I was going to plumb in a prop valve to dial down the front (I thought this would work ok as they brakes are so over servoed - or is this a no-no?)
Anyway - would these calipers and discs bolt straight on under 15" rims with no other mods?? If so I'd be interested as this woud be a better solution.
You say serviceable discs - much wear? ...oh and have the centres been machined out to fit the hubs?
The discs have not been machined - my hub flanges were.
I had them fitted under 15" rims, and they are less bulky than 260mm vented disc front brake calipers. I also had them fitted to the original Marlin hubs (the narrowly spaced upper pickup type) prior to the modified rear hubs being fitted that my car now has.
Dialling down the fronts is bad - I tried this and it gives the front a horrible non-linear feel.
The calipers have a slightly larger piston than the stock Rover calipers, so the leverage is better and the hydraulic balance is improved.
Discs are perfectly useable. Superficial rust from being in the garage, but nothing of any real note.
