It is not looking good for my foot so I am unlikely to be driving any time soon and probably only automatics (or hand controls, gulp) after that. This means my G46 is available if someone wants it.
i am in no rush to sell as it is simple wrapped up and not in the way.
i know that I will lose most of what I spent if I sell it in its current state.
I don't mind doing more work on it as it is quite interesting.
As you can tell, this s not really an advert but if someone does want to buy or just look at the G46 please let them know.
Bad luck with the foot. Have you considered an automatic donor? Did they do an auto SE5? Anyway, good luck with the recovery and in whatever direction your build happens to go.
I hope you do not sell as I'm sure that such a project will prove to be very therapeutic in the future and it would be a shame for you not to complete the build as you have thought through and solved most of the major build issues and have come a long way since your first postings on here...
I'm sure we all wish you best wishes for the future.
(PS An auto option was offered on the SE5's in 1970, so there are probably boxes around should you feel the need for a spot of additional physiotherapy in the future!)
As I said, I am not really looking to sell but if you guys no someone who wants a g46 and save some money at my expense the let them know.
Thanks for the kindness about the foot. Heard today the may be able to do a bone graft and then fuse it rather than removing it which would be good but have to wait until the 17th for any more real news.
I've known a few biker friends and horsey girlfriends that have had similar op's on various items of their anatomy over the years...amazing what can be done.
I have a vested interest in your project as you have solved a number of problems that I would certainly encounter and I need you to continue to vicariously 'bail me out' in my ongoing, somewhat, imaginary build.
WCA best wishes for a successful outcome with the foot.
They managed to put barry sheen back together many times with metal plates and pins and I am sure rebuild procedures have advanced significantly since then.
Really hope you stick with the G46 it will give you a little hobby while you body repairs and you can keep us updated on progress.

Along with the others can't imagine what you are going through with the old foot you never know what's around the corner. It would be great to see you finish the car even if it has to be moth balled until you are ready.

The main thing with the foot is the inconvenience. I can't walk far because of the crutches, I can't carry things because of the crutches, I can't drive, I can't ride I can't work on the car.
To be honest, I am not too fussed about wether they fuse or remove the foot, I just wish they could get on and do it so I can restart my life. I am going nuts stuck in the house all the time. I am also driving the dear wife nuts with requests for her to fetch and carry for me.
On the bright side, it is happening during winter so the weather outside isn't great and I get out of all the Christmas shopping!
Snapped my Achilles tendon falling off a mountain lucky to be alive stuck my head between two 20 foot granite boulders with 5 cm gap either side of my head at 40 miles an hour and no helmet. Someone was defiantly looking down on me that day. So my new motto is hear for a good time not along time. That's why i'm doing the Sammio. I teach Teakwondo in spare time and two years later am now leaping around again age 47. I see alot of people who are told you wont be able to do this or that after accident but ignore them and aim for full recovery. My cousins dad 72 run was over by a Range rover end of last year broke nearly all his bones including hip they didn,t think he would survive. He has just started swimming again and he is aiming to get back to his pre accident daily 30 mile bike ride with a 10 mile run in the evening. So there is hope for us all.

Quite right and hear, hear, to that - Douglas Bader overcame many of his difficulties (the exception being prudence) and went on to kill, maim and injure lots of our Continental cousins...
