Hi there.
Im Ashley

This wont be your usual question or build..

But im struggling to find answers online :( So was advised to visit this forum as there are some great guys who can help :yo: ...

So what im questioning is...

My car:

Ok its an Mg.. I love the shape of the Mg zr..
So i wanted to make something a little different..

After searching online i found all the Mg S2000 Rally cars were wrote off and there is None left...

After some digging around iv found a company who will custom build the car to the spec im wanting..

I went out and bought a Volvo V70r - 2.5T AWD 2000 model

And bought a brand new Mg shell but have no proof of purchase yet.. And it doesnt have a chassis/shell number :( More than likely due to going bust and about 200 shells were left outside longbridge

Iv chopped the volvo shell of and kept a rolling floorpan with all the existing running gear loom etc etc..

And iv fitted the zr shell:

The thing im worried about the most is.. Once finished will the VSA test accept the build as a volvo chassis and zr shell or would they just say no..

The interior will have a full roll cage, full original zr carpet
Full original zr dash with custom wiring to accomadate this..

And will look like this when finished:

I hope you guys can help as im worried im going to hit a brick wall..
Any help and advice will be taken on board

Many thanks
Ashley

How about buy another MG, scrap it and use its ID? Leave the Volvo out of it. You might have to put up with not registering it as the rally version, 'just' an MG. Therefore you could avoid IVA.

NICE JOB !!

Iv got another mg i was off to scrap..

Sorry so your saying...

Cut the chassis/shell number out the car and weld to this one..

Keep the car registered and just transfer the engine number from the volvo to the Mg V5?

Crikey! If you do that and you get caught then you will be in deep doo-doos.

Apply to DVLA for a chassis number to be assigned for the car.
Build it to the current IVA regs.
Get it IVAed
Register it at DVLA.

Your problems will be
a) dealing with DVLA and VOSA
b) getting it so that it passed IVA, and paying £450 for it
