I was hoping to become part of the kitcar building faternity and had even bought a BMW 3 series donor but sadly circumstances have changed and now i need to say goodbye to my donor car.
My question is this, would it be better to strip the car down and do a bit of refurbing of the donor parts (i quite enjoy stripping things down) or just sell as is. The car is a 98 E36 2.8 manuel with 130k and a service history, there is a faulty warning light regarding the traction control and the airbag light is on too so not really worth mot'ing i reckon.
I'd say it depends on how much you bought it for and how much storage space you have.
I'd say that if you've got the storage and you are in no rush then you'll get more money for it in parts and you'll also get the added benefit of probably learning a few bits-n-bobs of the workings of the BMW along the way!

The place where a lot of us offloaded our Triumph bits was e-bay.
It's probably worth having a good search on there, that should show up how much you'll get for bits and help you make a decision?
Agree with DC on this - like many Sammio builders I got back more for the parts of my Vitesse that I didn't need than I'd paid for my donor in the first place.
You could always store it away and sell it as a 'barn find' for £250k in fifty years time...
