Hi to you all,

I own a Siva Minibug (mini based beach buggy, only 100 made and have had for 20 years) but only had in the road for 1 year (back in 1986) when i was 17. But now I have a problem do I rebuild the car or not bother. Where i am going is that the car on the log book state it as an austin mini convertible but I have just had a correspence from another owner (not al lot around) stating that his is registered as a Siva Mininbug. So does this mean that i have to apply for an SVA test? or is there any other way around this problem. I dont want to spend loads of cash to find out I cannot drive it. Any help would be appreciated.

Kitcarman might be able to give you the definitive answer as these things keep changing but I believe at the moment you can apply to re-register it correctly, thus avoiding an SVA.

thanks for that a definative respones would be appreciated as this would mean rebuild or scrap which i would hate to do.

The question is whether or not you can prove the car was used ‘on the road’ as a Siva Minibug before 1st July 1988 (the date SVA was introduced).

The easiest way is to produce an old MoT certificate.

The test was initially supposed to start on 1st Jan, which was delayed to 1st June, then again to 1st July 1998 :doubt:

Thanks everyone for their input, this is where the problem starts 1: I do not have any old MOTS as have moved around the country quite a bit over that last 20 years so thing have got lost, 2: On the MOTS' it was down as an Austin Mini Convertible NOT a Siva Minibug. So I still have the problem :eusa_doh:

So it has never been on the road as a Siva Minibug only as a Mini convertible
