In the past, I've been a great fan of Flickr for documenting my car building hobby. It was easy to use, uncluttered and simple to organise and add comments.
Now they've just given it a make over and messed it up completely:smash: :yell:

That's Yahoo for you... :)

To be fair, they are allowing you to upload full res pics now, and they're giving you 1TB of space for them. That's a massive amount of space for free.

I've tinkered with a few over the years and always found photobucket to be the "least evil" :)

That's not fair at all. As a long term paid up pro member I've always been able to upload full resolution photo's and I don't need 1TB!! You now also get the pleasure of adverts for free!!

Now my sets are all mixed up with no obvious way for viewers to navigate the sets.

Just as an experiment, have a look at my 1500+ photo's and see if you can find my Marlin Sportster original Engine Installation set? Grrrrrrrrr.............

I'm on photobucket and I don't like the changes there either. It is also slow and ponderous with too many 'clicks' to do anything.

I have been pondering just hosting my images on my own website and linking to the images but I am also cautious of T&Cs that don't actually say that I retain the rights to my images.

Some days I find I am liking the whole internet thing less and less, then I go and Google something! :tsk:

One day we will have some blogging software on Madabout specifically for builds, it will be linked into the forum and will be super easy to use with image upload capability as well. I've been wanting it for years but it's been difficult to find the time to dedicate to get it coded. It will happen eventually and will have smartphone functionality so that you can upload your build direct from your garage :hippie: its a way off yet though :smash: but the intent is there.

All my sets are still OK, not sure whats going on with your account then ?

The big Q has to be if we "downgraded" to a free account, do you have unlimited sets available and no adverts?

My sets are ok as well. Not impressed with the fee increase or the new interface.
