Evening all,

I'm after some advice on buying mirrors. The main section in the IVA manual is 8 and seems mainly concerned with viewing angles (very confusing diagrams), the size of the reflective surface, basic radius requirements and the ability to adjust them. I've narrowed down my choices to these

Ital style - number 1 choice

They all seem to meet the 70mm min size requirements and should all be ok from a general exterior projection point of view, perhaps with some trim on the latter ones.

The latter ones also look least likely to cause me issues with the viewing angles as they'll stick out that much further from the body. I'm mainly concerned about the rear wings getting in the way but this may not be a problem.

Looking back through some older posts it looks like the rules for SVA were quite tough. Have I missed something in the IVA manual or is it just more simple now?

The field of vision is what you would expect to see in your DD.

Mine were fine - I had a struggle with setting the angle for the nearside, but it was not deemed necessary because the rear view mirror covered the view required.
I mounted my wing mirrors off my doors, and had no issues with blind spots caused by the rear arches.

Using card board cut outs taped on was useful to determine where they could be mounted whilst I sat in my seat before drilling the holes.

Watch for radiused edges though.
Mine were on spring loaded stems so passed (but they would have failed the radius test if they had been fixed).

I bought mine direct from the original manufacturers (http://www.texautomotive.com). You could choose the head, arm and glass. They are very high quality unlike some that are available. If you go for convex glass there should be no problem with the field of view. Like Mike, mine are spring return arms to no problem with the radius test.
