Hi folks, after years of tinkering and restoring classics I fancy a go at one of these in vintage fezza red.
I currently have a large unit tools and trained in the automotive body shop trade for years although my career has taken a side step into sales and management I'm not lacking in skills to do this.
So I have a few questions where to get the associated bits, fuel filler, wheels trim etc, I.e where to buy from I've not googled much into this but I guess there's a large supplier base for mx5 modding?.
Already spotted a few donor cars on ebay.

There is loads of places to buy the stuff, you will not be short of choice .
The MX5 has a huge fan base and loads of websites are available with parts and advice . Plus of course this great forum too
If you are going for the BMW then DO NOT buy a 1.9 unless you are just planning on plodding about.
The BMW is a better donor (in my opinion) with a better range of engines and better steel work. Costs a little more and you need to tweak it for handling if you are planning track days.

Welcome to the forum Mike.
It sounds like you are well prepared to take on an MX250 build.
We tend to advise about the supply of parts at the lower end of the budget scale, this gives customers a reference point to start from and usually end up choosing different parts which makes all the finished cars slightly different and more personal, which is good.

Sorry to jump in on a thread but have been watching with great interest the mx250 and then the kobra. Now I see that there's a 250 style car on a z3? Finding it hard to work out what cars are available and what is under development. The tribute website only mentions one car and even then just the hard top version.
What is available and what else is going to be available if you don't mind me asking?
Seriously interested in the kobra but would love to see a completed one.
