Is any body going to kit fest at castle Combe this year?
The date is 19 July .
Free entry for kit car drivers also the chance to go on the track ( £25)
Just completed the Club Form. We can have up to 15 cars on the stand.
I had to send details of the exact cars so I wrote 3 x Z300S, 3 x Kobra, 3 x MRS200 and 6x MX250.

Access to the Display Areas
Vehicle Display Passes. You will be entitled with an agreed number of Vehicle Display Passes (1 x pass for each Display Vehicle confirmed) which will give access to the event for display cars and drivers. Additional Vehicle Display Passes for additional display cars can be requested in advance of the event. These are NOT available on the day. Your Vehicle Display Passes will be sent approximately one month before the event date. These should then be distributed to your members. Please note:
1. Each Vehicle Display Pass will allow 1 x display car plus 1 x driver onto the event site. It must be prominently displayed in the front of the vehicle to gain entry to the event. No vehicle display pass, no entry to the display area 2. Vehicle Display Passes cannot be used for passengers. Passenger admission tickets will be available at a reduced rate in advance (see above) or on the day at the full price.
3. The Vehicle Display Pass must only be used for display car entry onto the allocated club stand. No other vehicles should enter the event site (to park in public car parks)
4. The Vehicle Display Pass will detail your club stand location. Please follow the relevant signage on the day to ensure ease of access to the event site
5. Please complete the Vehicle Display Pass with your registration number plate and stand reference number before arriving at the Circuit.
 Please enter by the correct gate to ensure easy access to your area and to assist our staff.
Display Areas
 Club displays must remain in your allocated area. No part of your stand or display may extend beyond the area. No drilling or pegging into the tarmac areas.
 Trailers should be parked in the allocated trailer site. Trailer parking will not be permitted on or behind your stand.
 Clubs are not permitted to trade from their display areas (with the exception of selling your own club merchandise).

 Set up can be from 16:00hrs on the day prior or from 07:00-09:00hrs on the day itself.
 The site must be cleared by 19:00hrs on the day of the event.
 ICE demonstration or playing of loud music in any of the display areas is strictly forbidden.
I will let people know when I get the tickets and work out how to distribute them. Possibly a small admin charge to cover postage or something.

I have shown Chris my rear end and he said he was hopeful he could knock one out quite quickly. If Colin can make my rear end black in time you can all admire it again in the sunshine
I have had a couple of messages about this. I believe we do have a stand and I will chase them up tomorrow to confirm. Once I know what is going on I will sort out the passes for everyone who wants one and make sure there are a couple of spares in case anyone wants to turn up late.

It was you who prompted me to post the comment. Once I get the passes i can either post them out or sort out some way for people to collect them before the event.

Just got the official email. If anyone needs refunds let me know and I will forward you the document he talks about.
Please find attached official notice of the cancellation of the ‘KitFest’ Action Day, plus a document giving options for exchanges and refunds to those who have already purchased admission tickets, track sessions and camping packages.
So no Kit Car shows in the South West this year then.
Oh well, i'll have to console myself with spending lots of money on bits for the new car at the Bristol Classic Car Show this weekend then! http://www.bccsl.co.uk/
Actually.... While i'm thinking about this....Why aren't there "Classic, Sports & Kit Car" shows? (or something along those lines)
In these times of rising costs surely a multi-genre show would kill a number of birds with 1 stone? and from going to both Kit and Classic types of shows over the past few years, all of the trade and 'tat' stands seem to just do the rounds anyway?
So no Kit Car shows in the South West this year then.

Couldn't agree more as it would make some of the smaller shows much much better. I think its probably more to do with a class thing as many old school CC fans see themselves as a different class. Not as bad as it used to be though but still a shame.
Hi went to the Bristol Classic Car Show Saturday in me Jago, followed a Marlin in. As part of the entry was given a copy of Classic car Weekly on the letters page a previous must of had a "snob" bemoaning the fact that young wippersnappers were attending Classic car shows in Kit Cars shock horror probe and a judicail enquiry, but he was roundly rebuffed by the crop of letters in this edition. If it's age before beauty my 1976 Jago out bids three others close by in the classic parking a Mustang a TVR and a Mini, still who cares really.......

I had an E Type once, and spent a lot of time lying under it trying to fix stuff myself because I was too broke to pay someone to do it.
I used to go to a pub to a "Jaguar enthusiasts" meeting once a month, There was one bloke waffling about his clutch, and I had trouble getting my gearbox off, so I asked him how he did his.
He just said, "Oh I pop it into my local garage and they sort out all the oily bits" Enthusiasts my arse! I never went again!
These are the "Classic Enthusiasts" who never get their hands dirty, but don't want that "Kit Car" riff- raff at their shows!
Well, i can tell you a nice little story about kitcars...
About 6 years ago i built a gt40 replica kit car. So before buying the kit i went seeing some builds here in Sweden. I met one guy that was racing his gt40 car, and on one of his practice days there were theese porsche gt3 cup cars (high buck league). The driver (one of the most successful) looked at his car and snorted insolently out -"oh its just a kit car", and laughed to his crew...
Well on the track, guess who was the fastest by far? It was the DIY kitcar, it practicly humiliated the Porsches! well that shut his ugly mouth up!
So the conclusion is, you just cant buy it all. Someone who put his soul and know how into a racecar, even if is a Locost build, can really be faster than a expensive "turn key" And he will have the satisfaction no money can buy, to have done it him self with the hands of him self!
