Registration

Hi all, does anyone know if I will be able to put an age related plate on my car if I use a cat C write-off as my donor. Because it is a cat C it has no V5 so I can’t register it in my name, I think they use the old V5 to confirm the age and engine size etc. I would be really grateful for any help on this. I hope everyone else is progressing well with their builds. Is any one going to the Autosport International show this weekend, I think Marlin are there and I am going.

Best thing to do is call the DVLA for advise and tell them your intentions.

I know for a donor car, to have an age related plate you need two major components. See below section A
http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regrebil.htm

Not sure about the Cat C bit though. Usually, to get a registration for a Cat C, it would need to be repaired and inspected before it's allowed a registration. But as your doing a kit car, not sure it this applies.
