Interesting thread about YODEL delivery

These couriers have been undercutting each other pretty aggressively over the last few years. Companies select the cheapest courier then complain about service, no big surprises there!

I've had delivery companies drop 3 tyres instead of 4. When the supplier then ships a replacement, the other magically turns up.

Had another company deliver 2 tyres and drop another small parcel and leave it in the road. Phoned them and they never called back for it. Local address so I dropped it round myself.

Our local Hermes lady is super.

Problem i have when delivering parcels is that if people are in their potting shed i cant speak to them telepathically that their parcel has arrived. Plus we get bout 30 seconds tops each parcel plus mail to deliver. With 500 house on my walk it gets bit hectic. Parcel vans have it easy - leave with neighbour or in the recycle bin. Thing is the van people have many parcels deliver some are forced to hire their own van the more they deliver/attempt to deliver the more they get paid. Eg over time. A regular person like myself would know where you wanted it left. As i deliver mail and packets to a regular walk. :-)

Just had a bad time with ipostparcels.com . Normally they are very good , cheap and easy to use . On this occasion they took over a month to deliver a gearbox to Germany . I was away on holiday and the buyer put in complaint with ebay who promptly refunded their money . Then the gearbox turned up and I had to bill them again etc . Got the run around from ebay over fees etc , right pain !

But that is the first time they messed up with me , must have used them 50 + times so all couriers have the odd bad bit of service imo.
