While im away in Germany i gave my wife permission to use my Kobra and on her 1st trip out in it on her own, the powersteering has gone! She took it to a friends garage in Spain and have found out the pipe has split.......
From BMW they are £111 which i am not paying! And aparently I cant get 1 in Spain as its a RHD and the pipes are different on the LHD models.
Does anyone know how i can get hold of a 1 2nd hand? And I need 1 sharpish as my mother is flying out to spain next week so she can bring it with her.
It's possible for a hydraulic hose replacement company such as Pirtek to replace the flexible hose using your existing steel pipes. I've no idea of a Spanish supplier for this.
If necessary, you could drive the car if you first remove the power steering pump drive belt. I did this when my high pressure pipe split, though the steering becomes very heavy.
The part is unique to the 6 cylinder Z3.
