Am seriously considering an MX250 as my next project, after years of Land Rover projects I bought a J2 Ltd Eunos last year, love driving it (so won't be using this as a donor). Saw the MX250, and thought that I have to have one.
The only potential problem I see with an MX250 is the headroom. I'm 6'4", and do fit into the Eunos, but can anyone tell me how the roll cage impacts on headroom for the MX250? I have to have the seats pushed right back and was wondering if the brace that goes all away across is directly above the head rest.
Hi on my 250 the roll bar sits 4''ish behind the headrest with the seat base pushed fully back .i have banged my head on the front side one a couple of times when getting in though, I'm 6 foot hope that helps
thanks, that's what I was looking for, I'm used to bending to get in, but was hoping the main bar would be behind the the head rests.
This is an old picture of a prototype cage, but the layout is still much the same.
The main loop does sit behind your head, but in all honesty you will struggle for head room being 6'4". I am 6' myself and as Ned says he has bumped his head a few times on the side bars. You are find with a stock MX5 roof because the frame work is a small diameter and the same height as the GRP roof line on the MX250 kit roof.
