All, it is with a heavy heart that I report to you a matter of the utmost seriousness. You are probably aware that certain replica cars are built and passed off at the highest level as being the real thing.
In a terrifying twist, it has come to my attention that on this very forum, there is a virtually priceless 50's Lancia sports car that its owner is pretending to be a Tribute self-built car. Presumably so he can enjoy the banter and many discussions about the best business strategy for Tribute Automotive, which we all know, love, and share selflessly.
I know you must be a shocked as I am - it made me choke on my shredded wheat.
This month's 'Viva Lancia' - the monthly magazine of the Lancia Motor Club - has photographic evidence of this confidence trickster in action at Woburn Abbey.
A photo will be added later - to allow the perpetrator a chance to come clean before he is outed.
I appreciate your concern, but I believe there is evidence potentially more shocking which affects us more deeply.
The concept of a kit car is something put together in a suburban garage by an enthusiast with limited skills. The end result should look home built will some, albeit minor, evidence of mistakes and unfinishedness. Any visit to Stonely in May will evidence this.
The concern here is that there are a number of perpetrators of "finishing a build to a high standard". In my view this is unacceptable and should be highly discouraged. If you spot this occurring I believe that one should publically shame the individual.

I thought I would check the website for detail but viva lancia website has this message : Although the magazine of the Lancia Motor Club (UK) is called "Viva Lancia!", this website has not part of the Lancia Motor Club (UK).

Last week's Classic Car Weekly had a sad article about a collector with a Wedding Car Hire business which had gone up in flames - CCW described one of the cars as a 1930's Beauford! So even the classic experts can be fooled!
Erm, can't recall ever taking my Spyder near Woburn, so it can't be my car we're not talking about.
