I saw Chris post this the other day, but didn't have the chance to reply at the time.



Personally, I hope Chris continues to post, as I find work that he and Dan both do at Tribute inspirational.

I certainly look forward to seeing how their new MXico project turns out.





Based on other posts, it is clear others also think their ability to turn a patchwork quilt of parts into a finished car is "magic".

Tribute's 275 project, also "under construction", is another good example of these "black arts".

So I think it is worth having a quick reminder of the 250 SWB's development history.

Plan A - Used a collection of random parts.





The fact that this approach was clearly getting there is what really impressed me.

Plan B - Used an original SWB wooden buck that had seen better days.





Even after repairing the buck and taking moulds, further adjustments were still needed to fit the Z3.





There was then the traditional race against time to get the original buck to its first show in August 2014.



To me, this kit is a great mix of traditional looks with modern performance.
( Ignoring the other regular debate on here about the 1.9 engine! )

Roll forward a bit and now Nubodi Automotive have worked their own brand of magic on the SWB.

Without the support I have received from this forum, my own build would have been abandoned a long time ago.

So lets keep encouraging all the builders on here.

I think people get blasé because Chris and Dan create one after another little miracles.
No cad cam or scanning and 3d printing here. Just a vivid imagination and the skill to pull it off.

And those skills are also required to build a Sammio

I love this forum because its full of people that love cars.
They are willing to put hour after hour into creating their dream.
All that scratching of heads and bruised knuckles makes the end result more than an old car with fibreglass draped over it.

The end result doesn't matter as much as the huge grin when its finally out there on the road.

Not to mention the looks you get from people driving cars 10 times the price of your build.

Paul Well said, most of us on here can only dream of been able to make a pile of none descript parts turn out to look fantastic on the road. These guys need to keep posting as its the inspiration we need especially while building the ribble cars.

So a message to Tribute and others keep on making these beautiful cars and posting on this forum.

Definitely balding. And you left out paunchy.

Still, whatever you think about him, sad to hear that he has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer.

Ive got 4 out of those 5 going for me, does that count?
