As title a couple of questions, I still have my Z300s (didn't sell) so still doing a few jobs on it. The choice of wheels I first made I've decided were a little small so was wondering is it the VW T5 16" 5x120's that fit?
Second question is how do you get the bonnet to pop open and stay up when you pull the bonnet catch, at the moment I stick a bit of wood in to keep the handle open but I'm constantly worrying something is going to break.

T5 wheels have the right bolt pattern (pcd) but the centre bore is too small

What are you after large steels?

The bonnet catch fix- you can adjust the spring tension on the catch

Yeah looking for something similar to the Dunlop style which can then be banded to 7" or 8"

So all I have to do is tighten the spring up, well that's an easy solution, will have a go tomorrow

Try ebay for BMW 5 series full-size steels. The ones in the ebay links below are 7x16 et20 with 18 holes for the E60, but other styles for earlier 5 series often come up, especially from German commercial sellers.

Heres what you do to get the bonnet to pop on any Tribute Z3 kit. If you have a grille, remove it.
1. Then remove the two striker pins with the springs on. Elongate or drill out the existing two mounting holes on each.
2. Replace the Torx head bolts with Hex-head bolt of the same length.
3. Tighten the bolts finger tight or till the plate just moves freely but not so they flop about. Grease the female part on the slam panel.
4. Close the bonnet down. Now with an open ended 10mm spanner tighten up the two mounting bolts each side. Its hard but possible.
5. Replace the grille.

This is the only way to get the striker pins aligned perfectly. If they are a millimetre out the friction will stop them 'popping'. These front ends are heavier than the standard Z3 bonnet so they are never going to pop like the original but it saves having two people to open the bonnet or a piece of wood. You could also change the springs for stronger ones (Discovery 1 & 2 for example).
