Unfinished 250 SWB For Sale

I rather like it in that finish already.

All rough and ready.

Nice wheels too - a bit different to the norm.

Hope it goes well on that there auction site

It has that look of a barn find, you could almost imagine that an Italian 60's countessa used to drive it around Tuscany in her heyday.

I'm sure that was the look Chris was going for. You could go the whole way with rusty wire wheels , broken Ferrari badges and missing a headlight or two in faded red paint covered in dust !
That would get them thinking !

8 bidders so far and over £3k , where will it get to ?

I bet around the £12k mark.

Anyone else like to place a bet ?

A link to the Tribute website and a link to this forum would be a good idea. It may help the sale seeing some finished cars and it may well bring Tribute's range to a wider audience.

Hmm , its listed in the Kit Car section of ebay which is fair enough but I would have put it under the "Classic Car " section myself.

I might have added the words " Barn Find " in the heading, maybe even "Ferrari" just to bring in a new audience. I know several people who trawl through ebay looking for old cars , interesting cars , lost classics etc but they would never look under the kit car section so would never even find this car.

Barn find (even if it was true) would immediately make me look elsewhere..... It just indicates overpriced "shabby sheek" talk and the possibility that it hasn't worked for years and has had chicken and rats living in it!

It may well be worth listing it in the Ferrari section, both Nubodi and the recent DNA 250 sold very well and quickly and that is where they were both listed.

I know what you mean but there are often interesting items listed that way , simply search "barn find" in "all categories ".

Wow- what a look!!!
Get a bit of dust on those wheels and it will look like it's just done the Targa Florio.

With this in the description....

Costs involved to build a similar car:

Base Z3 = £2000
Kit cost = £3995
Wheels and tyres = £300
Lights, handles/locks etc = £250
Labour to fit kit = £2000
----------------------------------
TOTAL = £8545

I dont think it will make over £8k.

However, I dont think anyone will find out because as with most of chris' unfinished cars they tend to sell before the auction ends.....

I'm off to buy myself some cheap spanners, an old plastic briefcase and some Ferrari stickers.

Sold at £5211 , a bargain !

Bought by a good friend of mine. He's looking forward to it coming home now and so am I as comparing notes with him will hopefully help bring back enthusiasm for mine which is languishing in a filthy state in the garage and starting to get stuff stacked on top of it.

£5200 an absolute steal !

It's home now and is a great 'drive and improve as you go' project.
It's helped me already as I've been fired up to get on with mine. This week I've sorted some wiring that needed refitting and am finishing off the interior. Pictures on 'the Kebab' when I take some.

I'm puzzled...... Does this mean you've gone from trying to sell 1 car, to having 2 ?

In an earlier post on this thread I put that a good friend has just bought this soft top. This has renewed my enthusiasm for my 250swb so I'm no longer planning to sell it….unless an offer is high enough of course.

Cheers, Bob.

Ah yes - I missed that. A true bargain I'm sure it will give lots of enjoyment. Please you've got your enthusiasm back for your one, which is a fine example.
