I've noticed a few of you have changed steering wheels and as such have lost the air bag. Presumably this would mean the air bag light coming on so removal of the bulb or disconnecting the system has been necessary. In 2017 the new MOT comes into effect, will this have any impact? My car had a problem which was traced to right side air bag so I removed the bulbs and disconnected the air bag, it has passed the MOT twice like that but will it pass in 2017?
Mind you may not have the car by then due to continuing back problems
I wonder if a rebody is a substantial change, only in appearance I hope as alll the running gear and chassis remains as was, although I would still have my car tested for peace of mind I wouldn't be forced at the specific times stated..

Whilst I don't wish to pay each year to get a car tested that might only do a few hundred miles, I can see the wisdom in having a test (maybe every 2 years). Time flies, and things can decay (sometimes faster) in a car that isn't used. The tyres, although having plenty of tread can degrade. That old flexi hose on the brake or fuel line can degrade - even more so with the latest fuels. From my point of view removing the test altogether is folly.
