Are there lots of potential buyers out there for Tribute kits ? Every time I visit this forum there is usually about 15 to 1 guests to members. I looked the other evening and we had nearly 100 guests reading the Tribute threads.

I've not seen any new build threads on here for a while, yet Chris & Dan are churning out lots of GRP. Lets see some of the new cars being built.
Have built a few kits in my time (as well as owning / had one built for me).
I currently have an Atom (kit to get it legally US registered) but the last kit I built was a DNA kit. I have to say, it was FANTASTIC quality. A credit to the company. Co-pilot has slowed garage time down a little...
My first was a Westfield SE with Xflow engine while I still lived in the UK. Daily driven (and piddled on for over a year).
(About the only time my Dad went in it!)
Had a couple of Porsche reps, an Intermeccanica and then an APS coupe with the best of everything (including AC!). Still, rear engine / light weight cars aren't a great mix on today's freeways (I'm in the US now).
Currently shopping for my next project. Thinking of a 308 /328 on bags... (I know) as a part finished project, or new kit with a Z3 BMW based kit. Hence the previous guest-ing.
Munky, did you mean a JPS Coupe?
Never heard of an APS manufacturer.

Ha ha ha - yes JPS. The wonders of Apple auto correct!
As you probably know, they haven't supplied kits for the coupe, so that was one I bought finished. It was pretty well finished with discs all round, IRS and freeway flyer trans. A claimed 130bhp and AC made it fun until you hit 60mph. Then the front end would go all light and it would try to wander across the lanes on the freeway...
I dearly love the 356 shape. Especially the early cars, but would never have another kit version. Funny thing, while I had that kit, I was also trying to chase the rust out of a couple of SWB 912s. (Impossible)
They had pretty much the same wheel base as the 356 coupe kit. No wonder Porsche lengthened the 911 after trying to put weights in the front bumpers!

The last I heard, he was doing them with Audi engines!
Mine was just an air cooled one. Fantastic fit and finish. Mine being black must have been a challenge but was a stunning finish.
If you ever build one, try and fit as much weight as possible over the front wheels or further forward.
They really are 'interesting' to drive with the slightest cross wind on the motorway! Possible, but it certainly keeps you involved.
You've had some nice cars there Munky, the interior in that 356 Coupe is just beautiful!
I'm with you on the 356 shape but wouldn't want one with a bug engine hung out back either. I had a '67 semi-auto beetle back in the day (the one with double jointed rear suspension) that I modified to a manual 'box from a 1303S, a 95bhp motor and lowered spindles with decent shocks.
That car was fun to drive in the same way that being shot at is fun so long as you don't get hit. It was very tail happy despite the IRS and the worm and roller 'steering' system always seemed a bit Herbie to me, too, as in the car is in charge of your direction far more than you are.
I currently have a Pre A Speedster body in the garage and it's going front engine, rear drive with a lightweight twin-cam behind the front wheels.
If you squint a bit I'm sure you can see the potential...

How about Pie Valley Buggies new chassis for mid mounted K series power and fully independant suspension.....
Tempting but would need IVA, so it's a no from me.
Funnily enough I looked at the K series motor as an option for my front engined Speedster plans and rejected it on the basis that every other K series car on ebay is being sold as spares or repair with head gasket failure. It's also 15kg heavier than my powerplant of choice and I'm looking to save weight wherever I can on this one.
Working on some grubby bits, but decided to do something a little more fun today. Got rid of last years 2016 LeMans graphics...

Think I prefer the LeMans graphics, but they were 2016 and have been meaning to give a Martini livery a go for a while.
I wanted to put the stripe over the intake at the back as well, but the vinyl wasn't up to the stretching for the huge compound curves.
Note to self - pay more for your stickers next year!
