Tribute Owners Club - Meet, Drive and BBQ

24 Dec 2016, 10:34am
After being accused (accurately) as the worlds worst Club chairman I have finally been motivated to organising a club event.

Date : June 2017
Location : New Forest / Southampton
Activities : Drive around, park at pub, BBQ, talk bollocks and show cars off to the public

I have secured a free BBQ at a pub / micro brewery with an allocated 'car show' area for the club use. The date needs to be confirmed but I need some idea of numbers of attendees.

The approximate plan is that people turn up on Saturday and at some point we have a parade tour of scenic Southampton ending at the pub for a show and tell car display with copious amounts of beer and a free BBQ. You stumble back to your hotels or wherever you are staying. On the Sunday we have another blast around the New Forest and then make your way home.

This will only happen if I can get at least 10 definite attendees.

Please add your name if you will attend

I'm curious to see exactly where ''scenic Southampton'' is ....

Fingers and toes and hands and arms and legs crossed might be ready.
24 Dec 2016, 2:44pm
Hangers on and normal cars welcome. Just need the promise of at least 10 interesting cars to show off to qualify for the free bbq
24 Dec 2016, 7:05pm
If I am not working then I will be there in my MX250 C
24 Dec 2016, 8:34pm
I can be a definite, but as a hanger on. Got my fingers crossed for a logger term dream come true.
24 Dec 2016, 8:34pm
Tch longer term, I am not a lumberjack.
25 Dec 2016, 12:02am
I am Ian. I will attend. I will bring a Z300S.
25 Dec 2016, 11:32am
3.5 definite with 'special' cars depending on how ZagMad progresses and some hangers on.

If you have anything interesting to bring that is fine, the Tribute Owners Club parties are not just for Tributes, Owners or Club members

:-)

Thank you Nick ....I can bring something along , depends whats in the workshop , but can certainly bring something on a trailer or whatever ...so count me as a car attendee ...

Hi Nick,

Many thanks, I will attend if I can, depending on the final date in June.

I definitely won't have my car on the road by then, so won't have anything interesting to bring but would love the opportunity to chat with others and gain more ideas etc.

Hi Nick,
would love to come but its a bit far from bleak Lancashire. I will have my 250 SWB Convertible ready for Stoneliegh and will be there so if I can wangle it for June will be able to let you know then.
I have just been contacted by another guy (Graham) in the Bolton area who is interested in building a Tribute 250 SWB or MX250. I have offered to show him the progress I've made on mine (ooh misses) so hopefully another convert.
Cheers

Hi Nick,
I have yet to try to upload some photos of my build (hopeless on a PC)
The sad thing is that a got a camera to log the build but about 7 months into the build I last my camera. I've got some on my phone so will try with them.

I will see you at Stoneliegh Trev, you have a spot reserved on the owner club stand so don't worry about the plebs car park :-)

If Nick chooses a date we will be able to make plans.

You can't please everyone at the end of the day , choose a date and stick to it !
15 Jan 2017, 10:30pm
I will confirm the date tomorrow and it will not clash with Le Mans, almost certainly the weekend before*

*or next time I go to the pub. I am happy to stake my name to 10 interesting cars so please turn up
15 Jan 2017, 10:35pm
OK.

Saturday 10th of June 2017

I am also going to try and sort out some kind of ticket system so you all buy a ticket and then get the about the same amount back when you arrive. Just to encourage you to actually turn up.

Give me a few days to sort that out but expect something like a £20 attendance fee which entitles you to a free £10 note and some free shit.

This is just to cover my costs of setting this up and then none of you freckers showing up

Hmmm- Her Maj's official birthday. I'll just have to disappoint her this year. Count me in.

Well my calendar got that wrong- that birthday is the following Saturday !!!

We have an update!!!!

Meat and Motors

The Tribute Automotive Owners Club BBQ is definitely on June 10th 2017

There will be just 10 show car places.
There will be room for other people etc but just 10 in the Car Show spaces of honour. Depending how this one goes I might arrange bigger things in the future in other parts of the country but I need this to be a success first.

The lucky people who are quick enough to book their space in the car show will get a free, yes FREE, BBQ Burger. Look at the menu on p[ub website and you will see these are great burgers with no added donkey meat.

The lucky people who are quick enough to book their space in the car show will get a free, yes FREE, Tribute Automotive t-shirt

The lucky people who are quick enough to book their space in the car show will get free, yes FREE, automatic entry into the public vote for the "Car of the Show" with a keg of beer as the prize!!

I have borrowed this place : http://www.brewhouseandkitchen.com/venue/southampton/

If you are travelling a distance then there are loads of hotels in Southampton to suit your budget. Perhaps your other half would like a weekend away shopping in Southampton on Saturday and a cruise around the New Forest on the Sunday?
