Just stumbled a few days ago over the 250 SWB, I showed it to my wife and she loves it.
It looks like I will build one sooner or later. Plenty info here in this forum - thank you to all contributors.
I sent an email to Tribute about the shipping cost and we will go from there. I'm not new to the building cars, here are my last two cars...
That concept to use a Z3 is just great, looking forward to the email....
I'm a Cobra guy in the core - I'm building two right now. The GT40 is just the absolute driving machine, just not open.
Easy to get tickets with it, so before I start collect any of them the car goes on the block.

Don't mean to take away from the tribute kits but with your build experience (and possibly budget) you might consider doing a more exact replica 250swb. Have you seen what mirage auto is developing? You might be able to use a factory five cobra chassis and fit the mirage gt250 body to it. Then pick your running gear and set up the interior how you like.

You are right with the build skill/tools/room/budget. However, this car is primarily for my wife and I really like the idea of the using the Z3, taking off the body panels and work right away on the body.
Very little electrical work and have that coupe on the road the same season.
I see you point about the more accurate version, but quite frankly when I mention Ferrari 250 SWB - huh, what, ah what's that?
And again, the ease of build is calling me, laying in the GT40 for hours upside down for the electrical/mechanical work was not that fun - especially when somebody else before me did $*&&^%$# work.

I am going to talk through options. Will get the z3 donor in the autumn after i finish up the Muscat work. Back there later this week, then at it pretty much to 2nd week of September.

Hi, I had some changes to my life - the project is on the shelf for right now.
Try to make a long story short. I got my dealer license last year, made my hobby a profession.
I still have my day job (19 years now) but I'm about to plunge in the car dealing business full time.
Planning, collecting info, learning and making some experiences - so I can make a decision mid this year.
Bottom line, I will get the kit. I just don't know when.
