Hi All
Simple question- on a UK spec RHD Z3 - where is it?
A USA forum states- "...crash control module. It is a large relay located in the drivers footwell...To access it, you have to remove all the panels under the steering wheel. Then you can just pull it up and out..."
The hazard flashers on mine are operating continuously whether or not the switch by the gear lever is down. I have substituted the switch, flasher relay and indicator switch already. Luckily I have a battery isolator fitted.
The Crash Control Module (NOT the airbag one) can operate the hazards independently of the switch by the gear lever.
My car is SORNed at present and I would like to get it MOTed...
This is on a 1.8 4 cylinder, but in looking for the mysterious Fuse48, in this clip, you can briefly see the 3 relays on a panel next to the A pillar, I think it is one of those. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuaOlI01XAk
So where exactly is it located, up near the cross support behind the glove box?
Yes, take the glove box out and you can't miss it. It's the only horizontal black module and it has the black, green and pink multi-pin connectors on the front, with another black one on the back.
I'd post a pic but Photo*ucket doesn't do that any more.
