Where do you by all the nuts, bolts, rivets, fasteners, bulbs, tie-raps, p-clips, paints, underseal, sandpaper, wet 'n' dry, oils, lubricants and other bits 'n' pieces needed when building you kit?
Am seriously thinking about supplying the harder to find items needed when building a kit (often the bits you wait till a kit car show to get). What do you reckon? what bits and pieces would you buy on-line - bearing in mind the weight factor.
I'd buy the bits n pieces in a multitude of places, local and not so. I never added the petrol costs into the build costs, but they'd be considerable - this was in a time before www. The smaller, friendlier places were best, where the propriotor wasn't too miffed at spending 10 minutes finding that special bolt you just had to have, and not having a queue of impatient shoppers behind you. Word of mouth, and experience, tells you the best places to go. And you can't match a nut to a bolt using a www catalog.

You’re lucky. In most places you have to explain to a gormless sales assistant firstly what a bolt is. Then that they have different threads, lengths, strengths, etc before you can get to explaining your specific ‘special’ requirement.
By that time his eyes have glazed over and you realise that you’re speaking to someone whose not only incapable of taking it in, but uninterested too! At that stage he calls the manager who says “sorry sir – there’s no demand” for what you’ve just ‘demanded’ even before he’s truly comprehended what you’re looking for.
An on-line shop could be the answer. You might be on to something John.
There is a shop in Neasdon near Wembly that speicialise's in nut ,bolt and fastners, if you come off the A406 North Circular at the first Neasdon turn off then go down to the roundabout and com back on your self to go back on the A406 on the second junction its on the left, its not a spangly looking place but has a proper old fashioned counter with assistants wearing white coats and a pen behind their ear supping on a oil stained cup of tea.
I will check it out when I,m up there next and talk to the owner about advertising in Kitcar Mag and to be on the Web if he is still there.
