Hi, I am looking to fit ZR 160 brakes to the front of the car and was wondering if it's just a case of swapping the calipers, carriers and discs or is there more involved??
Nobody seemed to know the answer to this when I posted it but I can now answer my own question as in the post today I received front and rear zr160 calipers and carriers and all of them fit like a glove.
I'd be interested to know whether or not my Type-r rear calipers are the same as the zr160 rears, as I've presently got the standard tiddly Rover 238mm rear setup on my car.
I know the Type-R calipers are for 10mm thick 260mm dia rear discs, and the calipers fit the 5EXI hubs.
If I could fit the Type-R calipers with rover discs, I'd have myself a winning cheap solution, if (when?) I find my rear brakes wanting.
Any chance you could check the size of the Mg ZR rear discs?
Nothing is imposible
You would have to make and reweld the mounts that the rover carries use so you could utilize the honda carrier
Plus check the the honda bits for size against the rover parts to make shore the off sets for the wheels would clear
Hi all the MG ZR discs are 260mm in diameter and the thickness is 10 mm.
Remember the Rover 200 Bubble is basicaly 80% Honda in it's heritage so a lot of commonality of design.
