I cleaned my rocker cover up last night and then degreased, primed and painted it. It's looking good, but I want to have the raised lettering as polished aluminium, much like Patrick's (and others).
What's the best technique to use on this? I was planning on using some high grit wet'n'dry wrapped round a block to remove the paint on the logo and stripes.
Richard did the polishing first, then masked the letters and sprayed the cover (a bit of a clean up and treatment with metal ready first before spraying).
After spraying pulled the mask of while it was still wet and used thinners to clean up over spray.
Finally give it a bit of a polish again. We're using Meguires NTX metal polish to keep it nice and shiny
Spraying first then rubbing the paint off will also work

That's exactly what I did. When painting it make sure you use a primer made for ally though, or the paint will not adhere well.
