I see in the most recent Marlin catalogue that they are seeling a seat belt kit complete with some sort of bar. Does anyone know what this is for and where it fits? Is it to get round the SVA problem that Stuart had of the height of the seat belt where it passes over the seat (or shoulders when it is worn).
Anyone got any pictures of this item?
I am not quite to the seat belt fitting stage yet but it's good to think ahead
If its anything like the bar shown in the build photos (on the CD I think) it will be single point bolted to the shock towers to bring the belts up to SVA height (near the top of the fiberglass - nothing that will keep the belts tensioned in an accident from the look of it which seems a bit dodgy to me. Unless of coarse they have now redesigned this (fingures crossed). I've not measured yet but I am hoping the harness holes in my seats will do the job for SVA.

The idea of it then is to raise the height of the seatbelt where it passes over the shoulders to suit the SVA people - is that right?
Found the picture. Hmm - doesn't look very substantial to me when you consider the load that will be on it in the event of a shunt. I think I might make my own.
I wonder if anyone has managed to fit inertia real belts? They don't suit the sporty image so much but, from experience, they are considerably more comfortable than the harness type.
