I have been trying to clean the crud, scum , scale and general cr@p out of the original BMW expansion bottle. I have tried everything - descaler, bleach - I even put it in a hot wash in the dishwasher - all to no avail. Anyone got any idea's - I really dont want to put it in the engine bay in its current state and a new one from the dealer is about £40.
I'm sticking to brown and dingy for now - have tried cleaning it but got similar results. I'd really like to get a nice stainless polished one at some point
This method won't get as good as new but could get some good results.
Clean with coke (has to be cheap Tesco's etc not diet as it has more "cleaning properties"). Leave full soaking for about two days. Work good for me though still not like new. Cheap to try as well.

HTH.
I shall try it - even though I bought a new one now. I like experiments....
