Those shafts look spot on. Did you get them from Marlin or direct from a supplier? I was down at Marlin last week and talking to Mark about getting some shafts - he said they'd had problems with some recent ones and pretty much recommended I sort them myself.
I've got some complete type R shafts and I was wondering if it was possible to get a new Rover spline machined on the outboard end after appropriate shortening/diameter reduction. What is the finished overall length of the shafts (without CV joints)?

Marlin supplied some, which I'll term "sub standard", so I went about it on my own. I can tell you the lengths, but to be honest I'm a bit reluctant to do so, until I've tried them properly on my car, and you've also looked at your car in detail. I've remade all my mounts, so it's conceivable that your engine is in a different position.
You might be able to get the originals remanufactured, but I doubt it to be honest - lengths won't be too different, and I would imagine there's not enough metal to cut the unique rover gaitor / spline detail. Worth investigating though.
Price - about the same as Marlin's....... and they were manufactured by Drivelink.
A bit of a plee - have any Type-R builders got a spare driveshaft bearing (the type that go on the inner tripod)? I've got 6, but one is cracked, and finding a replacement is proving difficult - Honda only supply a complete assembly, which at £170 + vat isn't very appealing!

I might be able to help on the bearing front - One of my inner CV joints has a cracked bearing too, and a slightly broken away corner on the bearing channel in the cup (not on the running surface) - all symptoms of it's last moments in the civic! So I've been on the same hunt: I found a CV joint supplier who could get me an inner joint for £100 but also told me I couldn't get the bearing separately. To be honest, I've resigned myself to getting a new CV joint (though I haven't forked out yet). This will leave me with 2 spare bearings from the old joint; I could send you one if you like.
Has anyone considered carbon-fibre shafts? There are companys who will make carbon shafts, and I was going to enquire if they could bond the cut-off splines from my existing Rover/Honda shafts into a new carbon tubular shaft. I'll let you know if I have any success.
