Carparts4less have front Bilstein road dampers for £40 each click here. You'll need to ask them about rears.
So you may get something good for £300

All ordered. Eibach sports springs and bilstein dampers.
Time to smash up my knuckles again :)

Hi landmann
I have already up rated the discs ( vented and drilled) new pads and new calipers , also ss exhaust and induction kit, strut brace up front and new bushes and drop links . Brand new continental tyres on the rear ( 245-45-16) , new sets , steering wheel , stereo . So suspension is next. I'm not happy with how high she sits, hence I want to lower it.
MeisterR coil overs do seem to be the best but costly.
It will be sorted for stoneleigh .

OK, so since you have put all that time, effort and money into it so far it would be a shame not to go for a decent set of coilovers!!

Eibach and Bilstein - the choice of kings!

Other than height adjustability - and that remains static once set - and the availability of springs with a huge range of rates, I'd be interested to know your reasons for recommending coilovers for a road car.
A decent set of coilover will cost you at least a grand and most aren't tuned for road cars.

Lowered on eibach s now with gas adjustable shocks . Can't wait to drive it and see how she handles .

I thought you were going to buy Bilsteins?
Don't forget to tell us how it drives, and add some pics.
How are the knuckles ;-)

Drummajor 13th April 2014 14:17

The bilstein s where out of stock and no more where coming in :(
Only done the rear end , going to front end today and tomorrow
Hands and knuckles are coved in scratches but its character building.
Fitted new hood yesterday and fitted rear speakers too.

Only problem so far with fitting 16 in wheels and lowering springs is arch clearance !!!
Spent days cutting and grinding away at the rear arches, really hope its all sorted now. It does look good though :)

All finally sorted now. Nice and firmer now. Didnt realise how bad my old shocks were ??
