That sounds familiar!
I'm flattered. :peace:

Yes, stripes can never go wrong! Got them on a gt40 i built (me and my father in law up to the left) and also on a mustang i restored from a pile of rust...

Absolutely Nick! I saw your build and decided that a flip there must be! I asked Chris if he could do those mods, and for a very small amount he could. But i will keep the round holes in the front and no vents behind door window. Really like your build Nick!

Ah thanks. I am actually planning to reinstate the front vents, but squared oval.
I want to pipe it for brake cooling, but also split the left one to cold air intake for the engine.....

Havent been posting anything for a while because my internet connection been down... But i have been working some in the garage.

I think that will be just great Nick. Myself i have been thinking about doing something with the big inlet in the front, but i am not sure how i want it yet...

Found adjustable coilovers (BC Racing) for a great price, so i drove to get them in a hurry!

Dont need those anymore!

When i was in the move, i pulled down the front frame, a-arms and etc, blasted all and sprayed it all up with a very durable paint.

Rears easy to access from trunk too...

This is the finished engine bay. Had to reroute some wiring because of my front modification. Bought a nice bigger cooler, as they say they tend to overheat when ran at track... Havent done anything with this engine. Not even cleaned it, as the plan is to replace or build it up for a litle bit more power.

Machined some moulds for taillights (left), fuel cap mould in center (yes i know, totaly stole the idea from Nick, because it was looking sooo god!!!), and a threaded collar that will be molden in with a hose flange on it. Flip cap is there too..

I will use taillights that i got hold of a nos, used on fiats, ferraris, lancia stratos and gt40.

I will just cut out the holes, grind the edges out and, fit them from outside, lay some gelcoat followed by fibre glass, and done! (at least thats the plan) :)

As i deleted the center console, floor carpet and etc, i needed something for the tunnel. So with help from my fiance (and 1.5 year old son) we managed to stitch up something in diamond patern fake leather.

Got the lenses for the instrument cluster, so fitted them, and it works great!

Scottie22 23rd March 2014 17:43

That's looking really good!

Don't use fake leather, buy an old 3 piece suite!!!!

slangenracing 23rd March 2014 17:47

Yes Scottie i know after seeing your seats i would have... But i will stick with this fake for now at least. Just loved your seats.. They were "aged", and that just did it. Mine is so "sterile" compared to yours. Again, just great work Scottie!

Scottie22 23rd March 2014 19:06

That diamond stuff really looks good, wonder what it'd look like red!

Idly thinking about my gearbox tunnel!!

slangenracing 23rd March 2014 19:40

I´d bet it look stunning if you take it from the suite!

Tribute Automotive 23rd March 2014 19:49

Great work with the sewing machine.

Your kit will be on it's way as soon as I can get the courier to confirm a date. I find working with courier companies very frustrating. I had to leave a kit on a pallet outside my workshop on Friday evening because courier had not arrived by 6pm, it is still there now! :tape2:

Does anyone work for a reasonably priced reliable courier I could use?

slangenracing 23rd March 2014 20:06

Ahh, that is just great news to hear everything is ready for dispatch! Cant wait to see how everything looks!

It´s about the same over here with couriers too...

slangenracing 28th March 2014 22:11

Have you sent the parts yet Chris? :pout:

slangenracing 30th March 2014 21:42

While awaiting the body to arrive, i went loose on the doors, they are bloody heavy on the lite miata! Took out everything not needed to keep all functions, and the gain was 5.8kg on one door. That makes a total of 11.6Kg! Door still feels ridgid too

slangenracing 30th March 2014 21:44

Went loose on the rear of the car to. Cutting out all non supporting brackets, sheets, flanges etc. Gain 13.3Kg

Scottie22 30th March 2014 21:56

Brilliant work, that's the way! Make it light!

Keep it up.

slangenracing 31st March 2014 06:33

Thanks Scottie! Yes we all must contribute to a better enviroment, so lighten it up is a must, later i will try to make the engine more effective too ;)
