Was wondering if you thought that the hard top would fit as you have now fitted the rear body, any mods required?

I wanted to consider exactly putting a hardtop on, but as the rear body section fits on top of the existing structure then sorry I am told and can confirm that a hard top can't be added, a modification could be made to accommodate for it by trimming back the body that prevents it from fitting, but then there would be this unsightly lip/step and not sure about fixing issues and also rain run off, however as mentioned before I don't see that as a problem as it never rains in MK :rain: :wink:

If anyone has a suggestion on fitting a hardtop then I would love to hear it as it would be the icing on the cake for me.

Was thinking it may need trimming the rear back to accommodate the top, might not look too bad and maybe add a drain hole of sorts.

Wish I had a hardtop to try so could work out how it could be done. Probably Chris at tribute will know the answer.

We have no idea where the 320 hours came from either. We told the magazine 120, guess there was a communication problem.

The majority of those 120 hours is getting the body straight for paint not assembly.

Why not take a mold off a z3 hard top? it would be easy to chop and change a fibreglass roof to fit it could then be trimmed to match the car and have either an original glass or a different cars glass fitted. Ed.

Could the rear of the body by formed to fit the standard hard top, and a tonneau cover type glassfibre panel be fitted to fill the gap when using the soft top or open top?

I think its a good topic of discussion to see what could be achieved. Of course for those who have the coupe option only then it doesn't make any sense, for those with the soft top it gives us another option if it can be fitted.

Nope, the Tonneau will fit, Nubodi one had one on it when I went to see and if you look at the magazine pictures its fitted. Yay!

Jets placed in offset position just like the original 250 SWB, 10cm from small bonnet edge on drivers side and 10" from small bonnet edge on passenger side. 8cm in from windscreen edge

Fully tested and works perfectly! just some small pipe tidying to do on the underside to make it neat and that jobs done :peace:

Oh and forgot to say that the other 55 tyre arrived this afternoon so will get it fitted and have a look at the differences between that and the 65....

Back on the hard top I recon tribute could easily modify a roof from the coupe, would need amending around the screen and windows a lot though. Personally I'm not convinced that hard tops are needed modern soft tops are very good and fairly quiet. Plus storing a hard top is a pain. Ed
