DAMN THAT SPELL CHECK !!
Sorry , no offence meant ....if you knew my humour , you'd understand ....to put it bluntly , I can be a knob sometimes ... |
I have seen the 275 develop on my many visits. It really is an impressive looking body.
But I also know that Chris never intended to take it further than the one he was commissioned to make. Now Dan has taken over but I think he will produce a spyder version. As the coupe models adds many challenges to the build. Chris and Dan always have a full schedule, Lancelot and myself understand their workload and we tend to try to show the reality of the situation. These bodies take many months and sometimes years from initial idea to final product. There are only so many hours in a day and priority is given to paid work. So paying a deposit or preferably in full is how to get your job allocated. As we all know building one project consumes lots of our time. Chris and Dan are juggling projects in double figures. Most of their work passes through the workshop and out to the customer without a pic or a mention on here. So hopefully, no ranting or name calling just the reality of the work that happens behind closed doors. |
Saw this car today at OLD NO. 7 HQ ... Realy like the way its going ..proportions are looking good ..

Z3 area behind seats - what to do ?
Attachment 3951 Front end with restored cross member now in T de F blue Attachment 3952 out in our sunday best Attachment 3953 |
Hi can the front crash beam stay in place and still have enough clearance:question: This will depend on which kit I can purchase
Thanks Steve:decision: |
We plan to keep both front & rear carriers / inner bumpers; they will be useful for some mounting points.
Yesterday I cleaned, etch primed and sprayed with black Gravi Gard, stone chip protector, the rear one. |
Hi thanks for the reply, my car is a 1999 2.8 that was imported into NZ which means it has to meet the 2003 front crash regulations, according to our authority we can swap the panels lights and everything else apart from taking off the front crash beam. if it was NZ new I could take it off.

Good morning Egdik , this is my version of the area behind the seats , Geoff .

lol Lucky ... I know that tomorrow is being devoted solely to getting a major step forward with the project and when one of the 3 people that's involved , feels like posting some pictures , it will certainly be enough of an update for anyone serious about this option , to be in a position to place an order ...

I think there will be a few deposits slapped down as soon as it's available. If I had a bit of spare cash I would have been one of them.

I'm hoping this will be my first kit car project. :-)
Also one of the people at my company owns a Nart and a 275 coupe (the real cars and not kit form) Every year he allows a few select individuals to come and see his collection (just have to make a smallish donation to charity). What a top guy , however the pity is no camera allowed. Roll on the weekend. Still hoping for a coupe version. :-) |
I know the idea was to offer a soft top only but as they already have the roll cage for the 250................ Can't be too different, just bit more expensive.
|
Yes depending on the difficulty my plan is to either fit myself or get a boat restorer to do the job.
I'm going with a boat restorer/repairer as there are loads of them where I live and also the fact that most the good boat guys are experts in dealing with FiberGlass. I figured that option would be better than a normal car body shop. |

The 275 project is progressing.
So far we have finished the buck, and the moulding stage is almost complete. There are just a couple of small parts left to mould. We then made the gray back end to continue the development of fitting panals and the roll cage ect. The gray back end will become the buck for the convertible. We then made kidge's blue panels, which we have fitted up to one of our z3s. Kidge has asked us to modify his kit. The front end has been split through the front grill, so the lower valance remains attached to the car along with his bumpers. The bumpers have been moulded, so fibreglass bumpers are available. Frameworks had to be made to support the added weight of the metal bumpers. We have also produced extra items such as a headlining, lighting recesses and grp undertray. Kidge should get his kit by the end of the week. We are still only planning to release a convertible version of this kit at the moment, and we are unsure as to when we will start work on the convertible. When we do,it will have to fit in around paying work. When the kit is complete it will be available to order exclusively through old no7. http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...psysqaub8g.jpg http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...psht7tal0q.jpg http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...psuxuxwnqr.jpg |
Nice work ( from what I can see)

duracell - Thanks for the update Dan, the way Kidge's bonnet opens around the bumpers is very neat.

As most Google searches lead here... http://en.abrandnewday.nl/wp-content...FLESkopie1.png :icon_wink: Jokes aside, good luck with this project, I hope it goes well. Take care, Paul. :) |
Looking great so far Dan - love what you have done with splitting the front. Great idea :)
Really looking forward to seeing this completed - the Ferrari tribute market is very exciting these days Dave |
Looking very good. One point that may be a concern is the front crash bar, it looks as if it is going to stop a lot of air flow to the radiator and the mouth opening is already quite small.

Here are the panels loosely placed on their Z3. Tribute have used a blue resin in the grp.

I do like the thinner screen pillar,
What are you using for a rear screen ? |
I like the window opening. I personally would like to see this on the 250swb coupe, I know the shape isn't quite right but you do away with the sliding windows. I expect the quarter window will stay as it is from the Z3.
|
The roof line looks lower,
Not sure if it is my imagination though. Doors need a curve in them lol. |
Looks great - stop making so many beautiful cars !
There won't be any Z3s left at this rate |
Looks great! When in production, the DHC is a real option for me - gotta be an Auto though, I want a cruiser.

I would say its the same hight as the 250 but the longer tail changes the proportions |

You are probably right, The head room in the 250 is limited so wont want it any lower, it looks like a 250 roof section, the over skins are 250 also, as are the sills. Nice looking kit, will sell well I think. |
I wonder if WCA will buy a third front end to complement the two other options he has at the moment ?? I'm not sure how the 250 SWB front fitted with his standard Z3 doors , it must have been narrowed some how.
