Formosa Donor
This Calvy Mitchell is on ebay at the moment. Narrow track MG running gear, fitted with a 2.0 Fiat twin cam, correctly registered and with an mot. It would make a great donor for a 120GR .

Crikey, with the claimed 20 litre engine that should go fast! Mine only has a 1.8 Litre MGB lump.
Would be a shame to remove a very good body though - much better to replace rusty steel with GRP. That's one aspect of using a Reliant SE as a donor, it seems wrong to bin the body - not sure it's a problem with using a SS1 though  |
The Fiat twin cam engines were pretty good compared other offerings at the time. I owned a Fiat 132 back in the 80's, that was rusty wreck but the engine was great ! Getting rare now but parts are still available. The Mitchell was never that popular, this one looks a bit stylistically challenged with that roll bar and tall bucket seats ! The wheels don't do it any justice either ! Much better to rebody it into something more interesting .

from the windscreen forward it looks great
from there back it’s bloody ugly or stylistically challenged :-) |
Would be a good buy if it goes for under £3k.

That particular Mitchel is one of the later ones when the late John Jones owned the company. Tyler Industrial Moulding continued the Mitchel production but ceased after a short while. Where the mould resides is (I believe) unknown along with several other projects including a Sunbeam Tiger replica.
