They are lovely. Sadly it was too big of a project for Chris, so we went the "Z3gato" route.

There’s an Ant Ansted built DB4 Zegato on eBay at mo.

Total animal but a little surprised with some of the gapping at nearly 100k - maybe out of the mould with no prep?

Be interesting to see when and what it goes for - might sway Tribute over decision whether to go turn key or kit

How has it been registered as a "67" plate when it's using an engine that has been out of production for 30 years?

The advert said it was IVA'd in 2017, hence the current '67' plate.

It has been a while since I checked, but you used to be able to use 2 old parts in a new car and it was still classed as new for IVA.
( Think old V8 engines in old Cobra kits. )

Cheers, Paul. :)

 WOW! That’s amazing!!!

Damn damn damn. That’s an amazing car.
I’ve just sold one of my 911s and was about to buy a Caterham (but maybe I would be better off waiting) arrgghhh...

Lucky@LeMans 22nd August 2019 14:30

It might be a close replica but I prefer the Tribute car by a mile.

Munky 26th August 2019 02:20

The twin fuel fillers are a nice idea.
One on the Z3gato could be fake, meaning you don’t need to try to swap sides etc.

Filler caps

Munky, that is exactly what I am doing. The one on the LHS will be a dummy.

Jack, As you don't do Facebook, you will not have seen these. Here are the latest photos of the buck in 1st coat of HBP. Chris should have it back, painted from the paint shop next week. We will put more pics up then.

The car is looking really great Barber. Chris has pulled one out of the bag again !

The forward hinged bonnet is a new idea.

What's the plan with the rear number plate light ? The Lucas combined no plate light and reversing light was used on the "original" Zagato's on an extended plinth.

The convertible version is going to be a great car too, I've placed an order for one in advance !

Jaguartvr 23rd January 2020 09:19

Looking good:first:

Surprised at the forward hinging bonnet, always thought the Kobra/250 bonnets using the existing hinges was a stroke of genius.

Is the new mould going to be taken after it has been painted? I know the paint will need attention afterwards but it would give the new model a whole new standard of finish.

Can't wait to see it finished and may well be behind Lucky for the 2nd convertible.

There were several 60s models had a single reverse/no plate light a la Jaguar and AM. I am going for that.

Painting the buck is for an improved mould finish. Chris, as always, improves every model. The painter brought another pair of skilled eyes to the profiling of the finish.

The extra length at the front means that a forward hinged bonnet works better.
