Best place to sell specialist old car bits - Marchal Lights
I have a pair of Marchal 812 100E lights, one even boxed, that I am looking to sell. If I stick them on ebay I will probably get 1p unless someone who needs some spots them whereas the last ones sold that I can find went for 100 Euros on catawiki.com.
Is there anywhere you can recommend me posting them, or of course, do you want them? https://i.postimg.cc/LsV6qnCD/Marchal-Lights.jpg |
Put them on ebay as a buy it now at a sensible price and they will sell.
Be greedy and you will still have them next year. |
I've found for selling anything, shall we say "specialist" that Ebay generates far more interest than any other selling medium. Because (certainly the last time I looked ) it costs to have a But-It-Now, I'd suggest to sell them on an auction basis, but setting the starting price at the minimum you will be happy with. I've been trying to sell a brand-new crossflow manifold for a couple of years, and no luck so far so I may have to reluctantly drop the price. The other thing with Buy-It-Now is that it has a 30 day minimum time period (again, the last time I looked).

You can put things on ebay with both auction bids and a buy it now price.
Set the reserve at the minimum you'll take for them and the buy it now option will remain active until the reserve is met, which will allow someone who really wants them to impulse buy. As soon as someone bids over the reserve, the buy it now will disappear. One thing to consider, though, is that with just a buy it now, you can set the options to make the buyer pay as soon as they click the buy it now button or your item will remain listed. That way you won't get ghost bidders who outbid everyone else in the auction then vanish. Good luck selling them :) |
Sold via the Tribute group on Facebook

Aha! I knew social media would be useful for something :)

Yeah, I might try the same approach on my Z300S when I sell it later this year

Wife wants something comfortable with four seats.
I want something with no roof and more than 500BHP. Limited options so we compromised and decided on a Bentley Continental Convertible for the time being |
So- nothing ostentatious then. Are you able to play football now?
Good choice for the run down to Antibes. |

Here you go: no roof, way more than 500hp and a lot faster than the Bentley -

WCA cruising around the streets of Sandbanks, yes I can see it now !! - https://i.postimg.cc/x1jpLtLC/fake-tan.png Amazing what a bit of car filler and dye can do. Do I look better for the work I have had done? I have just got back from the tan booth and spoken with Troy and he is going to touch up my roots and give me a quick blow job in the morning |
Ha ha, you can actually get four people sitting comfortably on a Sidewinder as it's three metres long. It helps in the comfort stakes if you wear padded cycling shorts.
You just have to hang on real tight when it launches, though, as it'll go from nought to mach 3.5 in six seconds... |

Pistonheads has done a series of Brave Pill features on Bentley Continentals:
https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-...e%20Pill/42962 The comments sections make interesting reading. There are some large bills related but also some interesting workrounds. I like the one about the £800 replacement rear lights when a 10p LED fails. A light cooking in a fan oven to melt the adhesive gives access, then out with the soldering iron- job done. (Cook the light unit, not the whole car). Spares prices vary a lot depending on how/where you buy them- the threads are well worth reading if you're serious about one. Lots of VW parts, you just need to find out the equivalents. No need to pay: Discs for the front-2k each. (for the ceramic ones) Pads ,front £1690 plus vat. ( -"-) A quick search on eBay found a set of front discs and pads for £899 Rear lamp -£1400 plus Still the air filters are only £100 each but there are four! |
Mostly Audi Q7 parts from what I have been reading.
I remember the rear wing mirror glass for the Ferrari Testarossa was something like £400 and it had the same Fiat part number as the Fiat 131 wing mirrors which cost £9.99 (or something like that) |
I am also planning on buying the post 2011 facelift which gets better reviews for reliability.
Basically they built the first one. Fixed the problems on the second one. Added more pretty toys for the third one. |
Sorry Nick, thought you had already purchased one ! There is still time to save yourself, go and buy something with a bit of style and class !
