On the road at last!

Hi All,

Registration arrived last week and number plates were fitted in time for a couple of weekend blasts. Yes - I'm now on the road with my 5Exi-R (after an 8 year build time!).

Not modded the suspension yet, so it's lively on poor B roads and just a little nervous at times on a good A road, but boy does she go. Very happy.

Thanks to everyone who offered help and advice, and if you're still building then keep on at it - it's definitely worth it in the end.

Tim

Well done mate. I'm hoping to be on the road after IVA and the DVLA battle.

I bet it's an amazing feeling driving a car your hands built :)

So jealous

It is a sweet feeling, and people who aren't into kit cars are really impressed!

I found DVLA to be really helpful - just a bit slow but then I assumed they have a lot of extra stuff coming through with local offices no longer processing new registrations.

On the road....

It's truly worth all the effort for that first legal drive, now the fun starts. :boink:

Best sort that rear suspension out before the full speed tests.:eusa_pray:

Good to learn you're on the road.

Enjoy the car, but be mighty careful of the rear end, especially as the roads turn greasy.

well done. enjoy the dry days while you can. I'm not sure about the others but mine is not very pleasant with the roof on . Very noisy and very hot

I've noticed that it's very toasty without the roof on - I imagine it would be like a Turkish Bath in warm rainy weather!
