Beaulieu autojumble

That's a Navigator with doors!

As it looks like a Spyder bonnet to me. The wings are much deeper from the wheel arches to the grille on the Spyder compared to the Cordite/Navigator. Plus the outside edges of the grille opening are deeper on the Cordite/Navigator, E.g. this is Mac's. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-l.../IMG_02314.jpg And this is a Spyder with doors I found on Google Images recently, which looks just like the car above, apart from the roll bars in place of the hump. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-o...551a9b3b5e.jpg Either way, it looks like a nice car. |
Interesting. Despite being exceptionally similar they are different cars but must be from the same builder. The Beaulieu example looks great but that rear wing looks like it has not been tweaked. There's a lot of tyre showing.
Does it have an engine as that front arch gap is massive. It still looks great and motivates me to finish (ha ha) mine. |
Looking at that back end it looks like the body came from one of the twisted bodies Andy supplied :icon_rolleyes:
http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2841c379.jpg Shame as the build quality looks good :icon_cry: Not sure of the way they have strapped it to the trailer!! Was it for sale, if so at what price? |
So it is a possibly a twisted Navigator MkII body shell, with an original Spyder bonnet.
I know that #274 was a Navigator bonnet with a Spyder body shell. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-O...o/P1010408.JPG So I guess the parts were interchangeable. |
Interchangeable? A Spyder bonnet doesn't even fit a Spyder body!

hi Guys,
Just to let you know the no7 sammio is a Spyder built by myself. 2000cc overdrive car, recently sold to a German client. The no57 car also built by me is a Sammio, I made up doors for it. Also a 2000cc car, No 26 had modification with no doors but a boot. All shells are standard sammio cars, but all modified bonnets to suit cos I fancied making them a bit different. No. 7 and 26 were converted to LHD |
Bisto34 - Welcome to the forum, you have certainly built three very nice Sammios.

Do you have any more Sammios under construction? Cheers, Paul. :) |
Thanks Paul,
Will be starting a new car this week, I fancy a change of colour...bored with red! I'll try to post pics, but im not good at that bit! Cheers Dave |
Fantastic cars, Dave. Did you used to build them out of the unit adjacent to Gary?
Do you have any profile shots of 28. I have been considering notching the side and you appear to have got it just right. |
Im still in the unit where Gary used to be.
i'll dig out some side shots, but basically set it by eye. |
The side cut outs in No 28 looks great, food for thought, any photos of the interior.

Very nice job on the boot.
Have you decided what colour this one will be? Good luck, Paul. :) |
Thanks Paul, wanted to do it pale blue, but red sells...Primer this week so final decision soon.

plus i'm biased. Those are really, really nice cars and I do like the cutaway sides although having driven a Samio on a motorway and long journeys I quite like the protection of high sides as there's not much else protection :) |
