Even though there'll soon be a Tribute model of many pre 65 iconic GT cars there's always room for more.
What would you like Chris to build you, and on which base vehicle. Ive always been a fan of a 1958 corvette, the first one with twin headlamps. Having said that I would love a single seater like the Lotus above or a cooper climax but to do that properly would need to be a space frame chassis and IVA route.

donor cars with large rear windows like the mx3 any good. convertible cars. z3 seems good one so far as the body panels can be removed boot,wings front and back. gt6 convertible

I like the idea of a daily driver exotica, and i like the Z3 as a base, so i'd like to see how the Ferrari Daytona Spyder would fit....(hmmm, one like the one at the back of the workshop perhaps.....) or for a car with a roof, the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe.....

The thing is many of them are already available. OK, time to go out on a limb, I want a modern version of a Husler, mixed with a Hummer, a 2l ish auto engine, propper tube chassis (like on a sand rail) mixed with a fun interior & exterior, one thats Multipurpose. It must have a low floorline at the rear, and a wheelchair ramp. But more important than that it must not look like a van that takes a wheelchair as an extra. The only thing I have seen as a start is a Desert Iris 4x4 (but I may have to remove the machine gun). and we dont drive much in the desert. I'm fed up driving a big van when something smaller would be better! The other car is easy, its just the MX AMZ with no roof- but thats for when I'm alone.

not quite the same but a Hot Rod buddy of mine locally has just sold a T bucket Hot Rod to a guy in Kent who has lost a leg.
The guy is fitting a hand clutch to compensate for this . He wanted a manual car still and thats the solution for him. |
How about building something which is a mix of several of Tributes kits and creating something different.

Like the Cobrarri idea - that one is achievable!
The issue with most of the others is the glass! I recall the great kit car man Richard Oakes stating that in designing a kit car you start with the glass - for an original rather than a replica that would be sound advice I'm sure. For a replica (unless you can get original glass) it would be very expensive. |
Doesn't look like you would have to worry too much about a windscreen to fit this...

With the 2 part construction of the Z3 based kits Chris can recoup some of his considerable investment by banging out the kits while still offering the variety of Ferrari-Masterati, Maserati-D-type, Aston / etc |

I like the 400 Idea also, but have further problems, firstly that the temperature must be stable, here we have 30-40 degree heats often, and greater than 2 degrees above body temp means seizures- hence AC everywhere we go is not optional. Also rules on Kits here are very strict, new engines side protection 4200Nm torsion test for 4cyls, 6400 for 6's and above and 1-2K enginers reports. its just the fact the vehicles are over 60K new make it worthwhile. Yes I have a 7 (building for over 10 years is that a record) but the regs annoy me , chris's kits wont need them! and yes I love the cobra/ferrari merge!

Some say he wanders around Asda car park with a rucksack full of glass mat and resin to take moulds off any car he likes the looks of, Others say he laminates in his sleep. All we know is, He's called Chris ! :biggrin: |
Now here's a thought, there are casting resins which can be made optically clear. If you need an odd shaped piece of "glass", other than for the windscreen, you could make a mould and pour the resin in.

Wouldn't mind a look at a zagto db4 with a gto or db6 back end. Alfa Romeo spyder duetto 1965.

Also bin looking at some of the period cars. Renault alpine,Ferrari dino or tribute version with front engine with rear drive. Could use the boot then with curves of the dino. Bit more predictable handling. Aston db mk111 has a boot hatch like an etype.
