Chris has an e type body
That's not too difficult to mod to look like the update.

I do love the retro curves on a modern theme

DSG4ME 16th July 2015 13:32

The Lyonheart K, previously known as the Growler E type is one of my favourite cars. I am sure you could create something similar mixing together several of Tributes kits. (A352, Z3000S, GTO)

Have any of these actually been delivered yet? All the websites reporting them are full of "will be" and "going to"...
And we are now well past the first advertised delivery date...
Vapourware?

Are you having something built on a Z4? An existing Tribute model or something new?

I donĀ“t think any have been delivered and this project has been around for many years.

Just an idea, how about a Lyonheart K Style kit for the Z3 ?

Anthony Cherry's already done it with his Bertini

http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/...57444BA55D.jpg

With some changes to the front it could look like you want.

y cymro 17th July 2015 09:05

Could someone with photochopping skills please add the slender front and wheels from DSG4MEs car to the Bertini doors and rear end?

You are quite right. Although the Bertini rear reminds me more of a modified Z8 the Lyonheart is closer to the E type. I like both of them. :eusa_angel:

Yes, you're right too:love:, and I agree that the Lyonheart is a much more accomplished design, helped no end of course due to not having the constraints of a z3 as a basis. Regarding Anthony's Bertini I think it's an excellent design from the the back but seriously let down at the front by the excessive humps over the wheel arches (considerably higher than the damn strut towers) and the totally inappropriate headlamps designed for the pretty little FIAT500 which IMHO makes the car an unhappy balance of an angular sports car rear and a curvy front end. If it had a more aggressive front with headlights from perhaps the new Jaguar F Type or new MX5 I'd have bought one by now. Perhaps Chris can design a new front for it

Try adding the z300s front end to the bertini rear

Its sort of an existing model and also something new and a mix with what i drive now. If that doesnt confuse you then i dont know what will. Stay tuned for 'dannys build thread 3'. The thing i can tell you is that it starts with a Z4 and ends in something awsome....

It would have to be the hard top coupe , it just looks right and the proportions would be more than ok on a Z3 or 4

zagmad 19th July 2015 15:30

Quite like the Alfa Romeo gt junior bertone. The one with the four lights at the front and smaller lights at the back. I was trying to find what an Italian muscle car would look like. Usually with grill parallel with the headlights . No v8 power but its got nice proportions.

One day, maybe.

zagmad 19th July 2015 19:11

Italian muscle car. Mmm 1970-77 Alfa Montreal. V8 injection . Quite strong chiselled lines. Bonnet scoop . Behind door vents. Horizontal tailights. Could work on mx5 mk1 and z3

The father of a friend of ours has one in long term storage up on blocks in his garage in Devon. It's a lovely looking thing and worth a packet too.

zagmad 19th July 2015 20:35

Could work with the windscreen height of the donors as the proportions have quite a low door height . And could make a wide arch version on the z3 bit like the racing version of the alfetta

And you haven't slapped a mould off it yet? You are slacking!

zagmad 21st July 2015 14:47

Could get dimensions off it and angles to build something like it just by using a tape. Width length of bonnet. Ways without molding.

redratbike 21st July 2015 15:48

I'd settle for one of these.......was thinking a miglia front modified would get you a good starting point

wolfie 22nd July 2015 14:21

Try this

How about this then:-
http://www.msn.com/en-gb/video/watch...UK&FORM=BWVOLC

If a kid can do it so can Chris, not sure if its z3 based though

Roadster 22nd July 2015 14:36

https://youtu.be/o5GojufrV7U

how about this mercedes

zagmad 22nd July 2015 17:56

Abarth 205 Monza looks good. Deep doors to allow for wide wheels.

zagmad 25th July 2015 08:48

I wonder what a Maserati a6g outline would look placed over an mx5. Bit like was done on the 250 swb with the yellow line. Scaled down to allow for the mx5 wheelbase. Side view would be easier to work with.

we need a four seater for the family man but still with the style we all like mean and low, the beetle based varon at the start of the thread is the dogs yes please for me. or I also like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-Toyot...item1a03a8bb20

Attachment 2759

four seats but again looks the dogs

zagmad 2nd August 2015 22:08

I think Aston put a stop to that build. The builder had to change the tailights and it became a one off. Plus the donors are quite scarce. Mk6 Toyota celica convertible or something like that.

andysharrock 2nd August 2015 22:13

not very often the wife likes a kit car but even she said now I do like that when she saw the beetle varon almost tempted to have a pop myself

what's spare time, & where do you put the shopping lol

Mister Towed 3rd August 2015 06:11

Need a sensible four seater? How about this 1947 Paris Salon concept from Franay.

http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7apeaze4.jpg

And if Chris leaves the B***ley badges off I'm sure Crewe will be fine with it...

y cymro 3rd August 2015 11:55

That's fantastic, and looks as if it's floating

garyh 3rd August 2015 13:24

I thought i would see if the car is still there...

http://i1076.photobucket.com/albums/...2014.22.50.png

IanA 3rd August 2015 13:38

A few changes then...

I checked and Frank Dale is still trading as an independent RR & Bentley specialist.

y cymro 3rd August 2015 15:47

No! Stop them burying the car!!

Good spot btw.

zagmad 23rd August 2015 13:20

Erm how bout the headlight area of a Alfa Romeo Montreal on a lancia stratos . engine at the front with the open grill between the headlights . bit like the Ferrari 308 GT without the pop up lights possibly using the headlights off a Alfa 159

zagmad 23rd August 2015 13:23

That way it keeps the wedge shape but fixed lights at the front.

DSG4ME 23rd August 2015 17:54

I spotted this car/design airbrushed (nearly lifesize) on the wall of a warehouse in Spain a few years ago. I just hade to take a photo of it when I saw it.

Its a sort of mix between a Cobra, Zagato & Austin Healey.

http://oi59.tinypic.com/33y5qa8.jpg

I think it looks pretty cool.

gas guzzler 23rd August 2015 19:45

Don't know how to take photos off other sites but Ant Anstead makes some pretty neat cars saw this one down at Goodwood a few years back. Some nice styling touches
