Very nice! When I built my Spyder I had intentions of doing something very different but wasnt brave enough to make all of the changes that I had thought of. In the end I simply wasnt happy with my car, it was a lovely spyder, it just didnt feel like it was my spyder as I had made too many compromises and played it too safe so I love to see builds like this.

Blimey!! Looking good!

Jerome, that windscreen is a brilliant idea. I must see what eBay have listed!

Still in the pre acquisition fase but gathering tips, ideas and materials.
Im thinking of using one of these bulges.

Perhaps useful to anyone?

Well you have certainly been busy and given us many ideas to think about.
Look forward to part 3.

I can't see that welding a rear floor to the front bulkhead and frame, then bonding on the body would be an issue for us. As long as the body shell can be removed and leave the chassis as Triumph intended I think it's acceptable.
Certainly a different approach,but a good one.

I can remove the complete thing without damaging polyesterbonds.
The issue was that we at first wanted to seperate the body and to let it be
painted. This due to the shed in which we are building(no car entrance)
Later we decided it has to be towed out of the shed!

Very nice work. Some radical ideas there that look really good.

Mister Towed 28th September 2012 17:21

Just had a proper chance to look through the photo's of your build progress and it's going to look fantastic. In the words of Columbo though, there's just one thing. You've got luggage space where I've got my fuel tank. So far so good. You've got luggage space where I've got my luggage space too. Great! Double the luggage space - fantastic for touring holidays. Erm, are you going to bother with a fuel tank though? It might just make touring a tad more enjoyable...

My petroltank is not placed backwards and is in normal position, the space is there in front and is not so big.

Mister Towed 28th September 2012 20:02

Ahh, I thought that might be the case. So, you're using the donor tank in the standard position at the side then?

No,just the Spitfire tank in the original Sammio framework.
